In this post, I will guide you through the process of how to start a WordPress Blog on SiteGround. Who knows, this may be your first investment to financial freedom.
We’ve all read blog posts on how you can make money blogging -starting a blog is a great way to start building an income. If you are ready to start a blog, you will first need to find hosting. Some people choose to run their website through free hostings, such as Blogger. This is great if you are tight on money and don’t plan on your website being self-hosted. *Important if you want to make extra money*.
I recommend SiteGround to new bloggers. SiteGround offers reliable hosting, easy WordPress installation, great customer service, and its affordable. Their beginner plan is a great option at $3.95 per month. –
The entire launch of your website done in just 10 minutes! Follow the steps below to get started.
Step 1: Choose your package
Click here to head over to SiteGround.
Hosting companies have serval packages at different price points too. SiteGround currently has three main packages to choose from. Being brand new to blogging, I suggest choosing either the Startup plan or the Growbig plan.
- The Startup plan is great if you plan on own one website
- The GrowBig plan allows the owner of multiple websites on one plan
- The GoGeek plan is perfect for larger sites that require advanced development options
Each plan is billed annually, not monthly.
Step 2: Domain Name
After choosing the plan that best fits the needs of your site you need a domain name. This is your home or address on the internet. People find you by typing your domain name into their URL bar.
When choosing your domain name, keep it short, simple, but catchy. Don’t worry if you feel it doesn’t fit your website after a while, you can always change it. Keeping your domain name no longer than 15 characters. Choose a name that fits your niche and related to your targeted audience. Your name works just as good.
Step 3: Pay Now
Congratulations! You are on your way to owning your website, but first, you need to pay. Make sure all information is correct at this point and you’ve added needed features as well. Add domain privacy. These add-ons protect your personal information from hackers and malware.
If everything seems correct enter your payment information and you are good to go. If you plan on using your website for blogging you’ll need to install WordPress. SiteGround’s team will do it for you and are available through Live Chat for any extra help.
Hopefully, this guide on how to start a WordPress blog was helpful enough!
